Hollyhock Lane Flower Farm

Welcome to Hollyhock Lane

About the Farm

For as long as I can remember my Dad planted hollyhocks along the roadside at our farm in Newcastle just for the enjoyment of passersby. Summer after summer the cars that whizzed by, slowed to a crawl during hollyhock season to admire them. Over the years his hollyhocks became a local landmark and our stretch along the Lakeshore Road became known as Hollyhock Lane.

In 2020 I convinced him to help me grow flowers so we could sell them at his roadside peach stand in summer. When he died unexpectedly in the spring, I couldn't bring myself to sow the seeds we had bought together. The summer came and went. There were no hollyhocks and it broke my heart a little every time a car slowed down in front of the house. In 2022 I planted those seeds in the hope it would help me overcome my grief and feel connected to him. What I didn't expect was how much I loved it. And so, Hollyhock Lane Flower Farm was born. For the first time I understood why he planted hollyhocks all those years. There's something inexplicable about the joy that flowers bring and the connection that's made when someone else feels that joy too. I'm honoured to continue his legacy and share that joy with you.

Owned and operated by Tammy Michael Hunter, Hollyhock Lane strives to grow the highest quality blooms for you and your clients.
